Overview

OKX Wallet is the self-custody wallet of OKX, one of the largest crypto exchanges. It lives inside the OKX app (as a separate “Wallet” tab) and as a browser extension, and it does not require an OKX exchange account. It supports more than 130 networks — Ethereum and EVM chains, Solana, Bitcoin (including Ordinals and Runes), Sui, Aptos, TON and more.

How it works

You can create a classic wallet with a 12-word recovery phrase, or a seedless wallet in which the key is split (MPC) and backed up to your cloud storage. Multiple wallets and accounts can be managed in one place.

Features

  • A DEX aggregator that searches hundreds of DEXs and bridges for the best price.
  • Bitcoin inscriptions, Ordinals and Runes support.
  • Staking and DeFi earning opportunities.
  • Token and NFT discovery, with security scans for risky tokens.
  • Hardware wallet support (Ledger, Keystone, OneKey).

Security

OKX Wallet has not suffered a major hack of its own. In March 2025 OKX temporarily paused its DEX aggregator after reports that hackers from the Bybit theft had laundered funds through it; the service returned with improved monitoring. Regulators in the EU also looked into the episode.

The wallet is not fully open source. As always, the safest use is with a hardware wallet for larger balances.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Huge network coverage, including Bitcoin and Solana.
  • Excellent DEX aggregator for swaps.
  • Seedless option for beginners.
  • Polished app, linked to a big exchange.

Cons

  • Not fully open source.
  • The 2025 laundering episode raised compliance concerns.
  • The app is crowded with features and promotions.

Who it’s for

OKX Wallet suits active DeFi users and traders who move between many chains and want the best swap routes in one app.

Verdict

OKX Wallet is one of the most capable multichain wallets available. It is feature-rich and fast; just stay alert to the many promotions and keep large holdings on hardware.
