Overview
Guarda is a multi-asset wallet founded in 2017 and based in Estonia. Its appeal is availability everywhere: Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, Linux, a web wallet and a Chrome extension. It supports more than 50 blockchains and hundreds of thousands of tokens.
Guarda is self-custody: your keys are encrypted on your device and never stored on Guarda’s servers. You back up your wallet with a recovery phrase or an encrypted backup file.
Features
- Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Tron, XRP, Cardano, Tezos and many smaller networks.
- Staking for several proof-of-stake coins.
- Swaps and crypto purchases through partners.
- Ledger integration for extra security.
Security
Guarda has no record of a large hack of its wallet software. Parts of its code are open source, but not all of it. As with any multi-platform wallet, the safest setup is the mobile app, and the web version should be used carefully and only at the official address.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Available on every platform.
- Huge range of supported coins and tokens.
- Staking and Ledger support.
Cons
- Built-in swaps and purchases can be expensive.
- Interface less polished than leading rivals.
- Not fully open source.
Who it’s for
Guarda is useful for holders of less common coins who need a wallet that works on every device.
Verdict
Guarda is a solid, wide-reaching multi-asset wallet. It is not the most elegant option, but its coin coverage and platform choice make it practical.
