Stop-loss

Also called: stop loss · SL

In shortAn order that automatically sells (or closes a position) if the price falls to a level you set, to limit losses.

Decide where you are wrong before entering a trade, and place the stop there. In very fast markets a stop can fill below its level. Moving a stop further away "to give it room" is a classic case of loss aversion.
